Sexual Assault Cases
The Zinn Law Firm has had the privilege of representing women who were proven to have been the victims of sexual assault. In several cases, we have been able to prove that our clients were drugged with the so-called “date rape” drugs such as Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB) or Rohypnol (aka “Roofie”). For example, in one such case we represented a flight attendant who was off duty, staying at a hotel near an airport. The last things she recalls of the evening was talking with the bartender in the hotel bar. Her next memory was of waking up naked in her hotel room feeling as though she had had rough intercourse the night before. Later that day, the hotel bartender came to her room, talked to her, and asked if she was okay. He seemed to be probing her to find out what she recalled about the night before. The encounter ended up resulting in a pregnancy which our client chose to carry to term due to her religious convictions, and she is now raising the child. The Zinn Law Firm was able to recover a substantial confidential recovery for this client based on material evidence proving rape.
Many victims who suspect that they were the victims of GHB or Rohypnol are under the impression that they only have hours to give blood or urine samples to prove that they have been drugged. However, in the course of working on such cases involving suspected drugging of the victim, The Zinn Law Firm has developed relationships with some of the world’s leading forensic toxicologists who have developed highly reliable methods of testing for the existence of both GHB and Rohypnol in a woman’s toenails, fingernails, and hair up to 30 or more days after ingesting the drug. In fact, based on where the drug shows up in the nail shard or hair strand, our experts can often pinpoint precisely the date that the drug was ingested.
If you have been the victim of sexual assault or rape and/or you believe you were drugged with one of the date rape drugs, please contact The Zinn Law Firm to see if we can help you obtain a civil recovery from the perpetrator.
